On a Wednesday?

My local airport is small. Not a hub, security lines are never over 10 minutes. Airport employees once waved me away from a "long" line 2 people past the corded back-and-forth to more distant security line.

But not today. At 6am the self-check baggage line was bad. The security line weaving out of sight was beyond belief. It was like San Jose, or Chicago, or London! WTF?!

I understand the whole "travel for 4th of July" thing. But it is Wednesday! Why today?

Travel time

A and I traveled to and from CO two weeks ago, and also experienced insanely long check-in (baggage) and security lines, both here in Austin and in Denver. Arrival one hour prior to take-off time was barely sufficient in Austin that morning, and in Denver, we were only saved by a flight delay due to storms. Hope you arrived safely today!

Weird. Going to Las Vegas, we didn't have very long lines on either end. We left mid-day in both directions.
