silver linings
Jul. 23rd, 2006 05:15 pmI've been in such a lousy mood for two days, I've been trying hard to see the positive things around me.
* I do not have to teach anyone today
* The two water bottles that the hotel provides every day are a decent size
* At least one of the restaurants in the hotel is open 24 hours -- thus when I am hungry at 5pm and everything else is closed, I can still find food
* The weather was lovely for walking today. It has been really hot most of my visit, but today I actually felt comfortable outside
* I have suppressed all urges to yell at people or bludgeon them with a borrowed umbrella, thus I am still staying in a multi-star hotel rather than jail.
* I made it to the hotel yesterday, rather than being stuck at the airport (as the diabolical current hotel obviously intended)
* The room has a regular (beer-style) bottle opener and a wine bottle opener. The wine bottle opener is actually very nice for a completely manual one. And if you are thinking that I would only notice this for alcoholic reasons... You're damn skippy!
* I get to see brother-in-law this week. He has been here before and can show me around.
* Brother-in-law is bringing me a resupply of dark chocolate-covered coffee beans
I may survive.
