book review (no spoilers)

Just finished Exit Strategy by Kelley Armstrong.  I loved her first book, Bitten, but have really thought the rest of her Otherworld have been going downhill.  Worth getting from the library, but not really worth buying outright.  I have bought them only on the nostalgic memory of Bitten.  Until now. 

Exit Strategy has no magic.  No werewolves.  It is modern world, action.  It is about a hitwoman.  It has a hint of romance, but should not be shelved with the romances.  I highly recommend it.

The second book just came out this month.  I have high hopes.

I have liked all of these books, but I don't buy any books at all, I usually get them from the library. I have started keeping a list of all the books that I have read. Mostly because I hate it when I pick up the same book twice. I haven't updated my list of what is available from certain authors so my list kind of ends around 2007. I just check when I hit the last book on the list. DiM suggested that I look for the author web pages. I didn't know that Kelley Armstrong had another series but now I do. I'll grab them, the author is from around here so I'm sure the library will carry all her works.

Oops, I have read the first book in that series. The Awakening, I just looked at the web page and recognized it, I should have consulted my list.

Well, it is a small sample, but... The first books in a series are really good! I liked The Awakening a LOT. I'm hoping that the 2nd books are not a major disappointment.
