Calieautiful?

California is not as beautiful and pleasant as I was led to believe.   Where is the gorgeous weather?  Where are the green mountains?!    I could have stayed home for this.

I only saw mountains the exact color of my own lawn (brown) on my drive out of LAX.  Not so interesting.  Of course, I was trying not to kill myself or others at the time, so this could have negatively biased me.

I'm not sure anyone thinks LA is beautiful. That's like going to Galveston expecting to see tumbleweeds. Try again!

HaHaHa. I believe Dilbert mentioned that Los Angeles's leaves scream as they fall from the trees...

Also, southern CA in the summer is about the same texture and green-ness as Oklahoma after a drought. If you are looking for lush and lovely, I recommend driving about 7 hours northeast toward the Sierras.

I think you need to go either north or south from there. I've heard San Diego is very nice (haven't actually been there). The Bay Area certainly has pretty parts, and very very northern CA, where Toby's family lives, is incredibly beautiful.
