indigo_rose99We went on a palace tour. The Palace of Knossos. Our tour guide made it clear how bad the guide in Malta had been. This one was audible and told a coherent, interesting story. On the drive to the palace, she told us myths, mostly centered around Zeus. But then the art in the palace clearly tied into the myths she told us.
T was totally bored, and annoyed by the sea of other tourists. He took pictures while I gawked.
These guys had plumbing (drinking water from the mountains, and a waste water system for indoor toilets), built using earthquake-flexible methods, and had easy heating, cooling and light built in. They even had skylights in a multi-story building. Further, they seemed surprisingly gender open-minded. For the time period, this was radical stuff.
