My conference went well. I have attended this same conference for several years. It is always useful both technically and for networking. This year I found myself in an unusual position: relaxed.
Unlike previous years, three of my longterm professional friends and coworkers showed up. I had people to hang with when not harassing developers. I'm sure that contributed. OK, perhaps I did not meet everyone's definition of "relaxed," but far more than in any previous year. I knew what to expect and just went with the flow. I even asked a question during a Q&A! This is totally unlike me. *rueful smile* This year made me realized how much time I spend holding my breath at conferences. Not literally, just.... But tense like that.
It was good.
I'm home now, at least for a few weeks. I am trying not to feel guilty about how nice it feels to be at home.
