home again
Feb. 24th, 2008 05:35 amI made it home before 2am. Which was, yes, a relief. I didn't even interfere with my husband's evening to come pick me up.
So my Saturday was a lovely day at home. Now, if I hadn't acquired a cold in Philadelphia, I would be really looking forward to my week at home. *sigh* Now I'm just hoping that I can airborne this cold back into the box. And, yes, I know that going to bed at 1:30am and waking up at 4am does not lend itself to an optimistic health outlook. Maybe it is the Aleve Cold & Sinus?
Our Saturday evening plans went really well. We had a house planning party. Our guests made many floor plans, which was very cool. My inspiration completely dried up when I tried to come up with one. I'm much better at critiquing already existing plans in front of me. And some of these plans were very creative. The most creative one was modeled after an airplane runway, with the central hallway being one long skylight, sloping. Standing in the building in the hall, if you look at one end you see the runway, and you look at the other end you see the plane in the hanger. Very cool. Probably not something we plan to actually do, but the coolness of it was very enticing. And we felt really good about the fresh views that other people brought in house design. I could see something I liked in every design. I can see long lists are going to be in our future. Which is fine. I rather expected this. The nice part is that I am now much more enthusiastic about the whole house project. I have been avoiding talking and thinking about it for quite a while. The whole process seemed very intimidating. The party and these plans seem to have broken through that block for me.
