"Here is your ticket, ma'am. Leave Philadelphia about 10am, home before 5pm."
"Well, ma'am, your flight has been canceled. We've booked you on a set of tickets that leave a bit after 5pm, home by 9pm."
"You are right, ma'am, your flight delay from Philadelphia means you will miss your connection. Let me rebook you on a later flight. You should be home by midnight."
"Yes, I see that further flight delays have given you a 20 minute layover. The good news is that your connecting flight is also delayed. I'd book you on a later flight, but that is the last flight out. Unless you want me to book you on a flight tomorrow...?"
