  • Got up at 4:45am this morning and worked out with husband.
  • Did the 80% remaining work on transferring my personal notes from the previous paper version of the class material to the version I am going to be teaching in China in a bit over a week.  Practically had a heart attack at the amount of space a single-sided copy (without appendices) takes up.  *Yipe!*
  • Showered before appearing in front of other human beings.  They later showed every sign of being completely ungrateful.
  • Drove 20 minutes to sign Power of Attorney (spent 5 minutes, with reprint using my correct last name) so husband can sign for me in buying the land because Some Things Must Be Done According to Others' Schedules.  Not that I'm bitter.  ...Ok, I am.  *whine* But they are out of the country, too, and I've been in it all these weeks...
  • Drove 5 minutes to my bank to get the cashiers check.  *sigh*  Spent 40 minutes waiting while three employees ran around waving their hands that "All the printers for cashiers checks are not working!  Oh no!"  There was much despair.  Fortunately for me, I brought a book.
  • Returned home and packed for my upcoming three weeks in China.  Discovered that, no, what with the ENORMOUS single-sided printout, 3 weeks of food bars, and the HUGE nerf guns (6 small ones bought previously?  Only 1 works.  Has ever worked. *grind teeth*  Toy stores are out of the small ones.), I cannot fit 3 weeks of clothing, business wear, and teaching supplies in a briefcase and carry-on.  I feel that I must return my "Expert Traveler" pass.
  • Bought frequent-flier-miles plane tickets for aunt-in-law to visit mother-in-law.  This required a snailmail (dark ages!) letter to said aunt-in-law, and multiple phone calls to get the Actual Answers to the questions I had explicitly detailed in the letter.  Turns out that once again, Delta Airlines' website just sucks when compared to American Airlines website.  They both claim to have domestic tickets for 25K miles.  American actually does.  Delta does not.  Ok, to be fair, none even vaguely in the time frame she would accept.  I spent 75000 Delta miles buying two domestic tickets that, while they meet the minimum criteria listed to me, I feel sure the relatives will hate. I'm positive I will be hearing rumors of my transgressions on this point for decades to come.  *sigh*  Family.
