Today, I'm grateful for...

• A large bathtub, in which I can soak my aching feet and self.


• Getting out of work an hour and a half early, so my students can attend a Christmas party.


• My driver, who led me with confident steps through a strange mall, into the cell phone store, and aquired me a human who spoke excellent English.


• Torturing said poor sales-human with: (truthfully) I've never done this (bought a SIM card, bought pay-as-you-go minutes for it, installed it all) before, can you help me set it up?


• Having asked said sales-human, because I now have a working/texting phone to contact my driver. And I'm not at all sure I could have done it without him!


• The amusement I get from purchasing a cheap plan for my existing ancient unlocked cell phone (Treo 680).... and walking past the REALLY spiffy new phones to purchase it!


• Clothesline! C, you were inspired when you suggested I bring one along.


• My students, who are becoming convinced that plying me with bottles of water is a safe way to take care of me.
