indigo_rose99Complacency is a dangerous thing. This is especially true in my household.
Have you met Mr Kitty? He is an unpreposessing grey stuffed cat, given to my husband some years ago by his mother. T is fond of saying that Mr Kitty has traveled to more places than most of our friends. He usually does not say it in said friends' earshot. To demonstrate this travel Mr Kitty gets his own sticker color on our map of the world.
It wouldn't sound like it, but I hate the damn thing. Hate it, lose it off a building, run over it with a car. However, my husband has made it clear (I think when I found Mr Kitty in my checked luggage in the trunk of my rental car when rummaging for maps in Hawaii some years back) that if I ever make plans to come home without Mr Kitty, Don't Come Home.
As a general rule, I search my luggage for him before I step out the door. That, or I confirm that he is somewhere else in the house.
T has recently been sad that Mr Kitty missed both France and the Caribbean.
So today I set off for Philadelphia to help a friend. As I inched forward in the security line at my home airport, I stowed my metal... And found Mr Kitty's fuzzy ass stickng out of my open backpack.
*sigh*
